Hot, Hot, Hot Holiday Color Trend: JUNGLE RED

Ever see the 1939 MGM movie titled The Women?  Those gals were slingin’ wisecracks when Betty White was still a “ROSEy”-faced toddler and Bea Arthur wasn’t quite so golden!  This was also the first talking picture that featured a FULL COLOR fashion show.  Enough with movies, fashion, and White’s berry-slapped cheeks.  We’re talkin’ about COLOR; and what’s HOT!! 6078Theme296WG1

But, hold on to your pill box hat I say…

Red, Movies, Fashion, White, Rose, Golden, Berry, Jungle, Leopard.  Can ya see where I’m going with this??  Kinda looks like colors of lipstick!  I digress; enough with the shtick and on with the show, I mean “spot”!!

In researching for this snipit, I searched near and far.  Far, coming from a Christmas trend report from Germany that says White is a trendy color for t3012winterWonderlandWLghe holidays.  Well, I read that and I said to myself, “Duh!”  But I further went on to read that white mixed with  clear, ivory, pearl, creams, and those ever present metal colors were gonna be the “IN” thing this season in Europe.  So break out the liquid paper from the back of your office drawer and get ta paintin’ all those brown ornaments white!  I know you’ve got ‘em!!!

Near and up the road, my fashionista friend over at a not-so-hoi polloi box store mentioned that they were seeing RED!  No, she wasn’t mad at me because I forgot to bring her a grande caramel venti whateveryoucallit for our appointment, but focusing on warming up the holidays with a little red.  Really?  “Red.”  I said!  (insert Dr. Seussian guffaw here)  Hmmmmmm.  My first thought took me back to The Devil Wears Prada and just how original THAT was.  Well, after taking the daggers out of my chest I realized that she not only meant RED, but shades of!!  Whew!  I knew there was a silver lining somewhere in her repertoire.  So, tickle me pink, purple, red, burgundy, and grape!

And folks, the Lion King has come and gone, and it’s been replaced with a little leopard.  Her name is not Simba, but Maeve!   And, yes, I know leopard’s not a color!  But, if you’re my friend Maeve, leopard never left and brown and with black spots is HOT!!

Well, gotta motor!! the_devil_wears_prada_2
