Corporate Meetings - Back to Business
I am always interested on reading others views on our industry and business predictions for the upcoming year. As we near the end of Q1 I have to say that I agree and disagree with some on the points in this article. I feel that it is all relative to the region that most of your meetings are either held or planned in.
We [Meritage Events] have seen an increased level of “interest” for groups to hold more meetings, but it is still not on the scale it was pre-2008. We are also dealing with a sift of the pendulum on the side of the client, as they know they have more flexibility in pricing and deciding when to have the meeting (i.e. start the planning process – which is turn gives us as planners less time to produce their program). Meetings Focus (March 2010) did a great job on summarizing the thoughts of different opinion leaders in the event & hospitality industry. Take a few minutes and read for yourself.
