Green Meetings
These days as planners are working hard to remind clients (and the general public) about the importance of face-to-face meetings/events, it’s great to find a resource that can help us design programs which reduce cost and help “green up” our events. The Green Meeting Industry Council (GMIC), in partnership with The Conference Publishers Inc, has launched a new website, Green Meetings Portal, to act as a source of information on new policy, technology and ideas in producing greener events.
"With the whole rationale for meetings under serious attack, the Green Meetings Portal reinforces the incredible value participants receive when they gather for face-to-face learning and discussion," GMIC President Amy Spatrisano, CMP, said in a statement. "At the same time, the site will demonstrate a method of using online resources and communities to extend the life and multiply the impact of live events."
When doing research for an event, there are so many links and sources on the internet, it becomes a bit cumbersome; I don’t want (or have) the time to spend looking into it all in order to find the applicable information I’m searching for. I love finding those “one-stop-shop” resources! There is a lot of great information and new ideas on the site, so be sure to check it out.
